Independence
Freedom of the press is a cornerstone of democracy, allowing journalists to investigate, report, and express opinions without fear of censorship or retribution. For freelancers, this freedom is particularly crucial, as they often operate independently, navigating the complexities of a rapidly changing media landscape. Freelancers bring diverse perspectives and stories to the forefront, highlighting issues that may be overlooked by larger outlets. However, they also face unique challenges, such as financial instability and limited access to resources. The protection of press freedom ensures that these independent voices can continue to contribute to public discourse, advocate for transparency, and hold power to account, enriching the fabric of informed society.
What We Do
The Pitch Place is a one-stop shop for freelance journalists to pitch to commisioning editors and for editors to find journalists on location, wherever and whenever breaking news happens. Our goal is to connect journalists and editors enabling more effiecient coordination between both parties. For journalists, we provide the ability to submit pitches for various forms of media to a wide arrange of editors around the world, allowing journalists to focus on their creative media and leaving the nitty gritty of finding editors/publishers to us. For editors, we provide ease of access to journalists across the globe, who are willing and able to provide coverage on breaking news and stories on location.
